Story
Endometriosis is a full-body disease, one of the top 20 most painful conditions, and it impacts 1 in 10 people with a uterus. Unfortunately, I am one of those people.
Endometriosis (and suspected adenomyosis) symptoms worsen my Long COVID symptoms; it’s a brutal cycle! I now live around 5 days per month where I’m not navigating debilitating endometriosis symptoms on top of life altering Long COVID symptoms. My endo wasn’t always this bad, but it has progressively become more disabling over time. I’ve passed out and gotten a concussion from cycle pain, gone to the ER for severe pain numerous times, missed personal and professional opportunities, and generally have had my quality of life and mental health take a massive blow. They won’t know the severity of the disease until they are operating. This could result in an overnight stay, multiple nights, or going home the same day. There’s a lot of unknowns going into this.
The combo of worsening Endometriosis alongside Long COVID has become detrimental to my quality of life, so I decided to take a risk and pursue excision surgery. I’m desperate for relief, and scared but hopeful.
These funds will be used to help cover:
Post-op surgery care items (350+)
Post-op nutrition (500+)
Post-op IV Fluids (500+)
Surgeon costs (365)
Medical bills (estimated 3,000+)
Pelvic floor PT co-pays (250+)
I know that the world is extremely rough right now, which adds to the discomfort around asking for support. I keep hoping my medical GoFundMe’s will end, but I haven’t quite gotten there yet. I’m trying my best to improve my health in any way possible. I’ve learned through this process that you have to allow people to show up for you, rather than deciding before you even give them a chance. It is always incredibly vulnerable. I appreciate any amount donated, and any share, or words of encouragement. I hope I can regain some energy from this surgery so that I can create more art again, and continue to serve the community.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
